MARLOW TOWN CLOCK

2 MARLOW TOWN CLOCK – THE CROWN

The clock came into being as a gift to the town by Pascoe Grenfell MP on 3 April 1805. The clock was manufactured by William and John Lawson – Clockmakers of Newton Willows, Lancashire and there is an engraved plaque on the clock to record this matter. The Crown Building, in which the clock is housed, was owned by Mr Edward Riley and details of the clock appear in the Riley Recreation Ground Trust Deed 1914.
